- Diplomate in Cornea, Contact Lenses and Refractive Technologies in 2015. This distinction is the highest degree of specialization given by the American Academy of Optometry in the field of contact lenses. It is given after the completion of a process that includes: passing two written examinations during the annual meeting of the American Academy of Optometry, a practical examination with real patients in different clinics in different cities in the USA, presenting and discussing ten clinical reports of patients fitted in our clinic, and lastly, an oral examination assessed by four of the highest experts in contact lenses worldwide. At the present time, there are about 120 diplomates around the world (most of them in USA) and he is the only Spaniard that has achieved this distinction.
His task in this center is to provide Primary Eye Care, which involves performing comprehensive visual examinations in both new and current patients, as well as in children.
He is specially interested in the field of contact lenses, and has been specifically trained to fit contact lenses in any patient, including those suffering pathologies such as keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, dry eye and other corneal conditions.
