We are entirely dedicated to provide the best eye care to our patient. Our goal is an excellence in clinical practice, specially in the field of contact lenses. Continuing education, including internationally, is supporting our clinical practice.

In addition to fitting all kinds of contact lenses and even in special conditions, we are familiar with contact lens-related complications. We know their management and how to refit contact lenses again, avoiding the risk factors for each complication. In this way, our patients will rarely have to stop wearing contacts permanently.

If you are interested in wearing contact lenses, or if you are already wearing contacts, but you feel they are not working well, make an appointment. After an initial consultation, a contact lens fitting visit will be arranged for you, with a design or fitting philosophy that suits you best.

Soft lenses

They are widely prescribed and they have the highest share in the contact lens market. This is because they are exceptionally comfortable just after their insertion, and they barely need adaptation. We work with the main labs, that offer daily, bi-weekly or monthly disposable contact lenses, but also work with labs that offer customized contact lenses for high prescriptions or for special needs.

Rigid or Gas Permeable Lenses

They provide the patient with a high quality of vision, and in some patients such as those suffering high levels of astigmatism, they are one of the best options. They require a fitting period so that the eye can gradually accommodate to the lens movement. They are customized for each patient and require a high level of expertise by the optometrist in choosing the lens parameters. A diagnostic set or “trials lenses” that will assist us in the fitting are also required. We are equipped with a wide inventory of diagnostic lenses from several labs, as well as instrumentation and techniques for their assessment.

Hybrid Lenses

They combine both the quality of vision provided by rigid lenses and the exceptional comfort provided by the soft lenses. They have a central rigid portion, surrounded by a soft skirt. Basically, there are two designs, one for the irregular cornea and another for the correction of refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism or presbyopia in regular corneas.

Fitting these lenses requires expertise and training, as well as, diagnostic lenses. We are equipped to fit these specialty lenses.

Scleral Lenses

These are rigid lenses that are fitted with a fluid chamber between the cornea and the lens. Thanks to their size and that they are not moving, they provide exceptional comfort and vision.

Their use is expanding and we have been trained to fit these lenses. We have diagnostic lenses and work with different labs from Spain, the United Kingdom and the USA that offer us lenses with diameters between 15 and 20 millimeters.

They provide good vision and comfort, specially in patient with keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration or post-LASIK ectasia. They are also helpful in controlling symptomatology in the following ocular surface conditions:

  • Sjögren’s syndrome
  • Evaporative dry eye/Meibomian Gland dysfunction
  • Exposure keratitis
  • Neurotrophic corneas
  • Stevens-Johnson syndrome
  • Salzmann nodular degeneration
  • Terrien’s marginal degeneration
  • Ocular graft-versus host disease
  • Ocular cicatricial pemphigoid
